Visitors looking to experience one of the best London attractions around will do no wrong in heading to St Paul's Cathedral.

The historic seat of the Bishop of London, St Paul's Cathedral was built between 1675 and 1710.

It is renowned as an architectural triumph with its iconic dome considered one of the most recognisable in the world.

So important is the cathedral that it has held services there for some of the UK's most important public figures.

This has included Lord Nelson, the Duke of Wellington and Winston Churchill.

It has also been a place of celebration too, notable for hosting the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana.

St Paul's Cathedral holds one of the greatest collections of knowledge, including an astonishing 21,500 volumes (books, manuscripts and pamphlets).

Also in the collection are various objects, including models, stones and paintings.

"The Architectural Archive contains the papers and drawings created by the Surveyor to the Fabric and related drawings by consultants, contractors, artists and designers," St Paul's Cathedral states on its website.

"The drawings and records chart the original design and construction of the Cathedral by Christopher Wren and the architectural history of the building to the present day."
